Coat: Outer coat is hard, but soft underneath.
Character: This dog bonds very closely to its family. It is watchful, protective, and playful.
Temperament: Irish Terriers may want to fight other dogs, and need to be taught not to chase cats when young. They are friendly toward people and love children.
Care: Hand-plucking of the hairs is necessary twice a year. Excessive hair around the pads of the feet must be trimmed and the ears must be kept clean.
Training: When in a good mood it learns quickly, but this dog needs variety in training routines.
Activity: This breed loves playing ball in the yard or running in the countryside. It needs plenty of exercise.
